Another 200 Kenyan police officers have been sent to address gang violence in Haiti, senior officials said Tuesday.
“We are happy to work side-by-side with the Kenyans,” Normil Rameau, the chief of National Police, said shortly after they arrived.
“In the name of the Haitian government, we give them a warm welcome,” He added.
This follows the June deployment of 400 officers, with Kenya planning to send a total of 1,000 officers despite ongoing legal challenges.
