
An online media association said two reporters a police officer were killed and several others were wounded in a gang attack on Tuesday on the reopening of the biggest public hospital in Port-au-Prince.
Robest Dimanche, a spokesman for the Online Media Collective, identified the dead journalists as Markenzy Nathoux and Jimmy Jean.
In a video statement, the head of Haiti's presidential transitional council, Leslie Voltaire, said: "We express our sympathy to all the victims' families, in particular to the National Police and all the journalists' associations.
"We guarantee them that this act will not remain without consequences."
Journalists were waiting for the arrival of Health Minister Lorthe Blema when the shooting began.
